Brianna & Jack

You meet and pass by an unsurmountable amount of people in your life. Daily, how many people pass you by that you don't even think twice about. All of us have our own little lives, jobs, relationships, and ups & downs.

But really, what's better than unexpectedly meeting your person? The one who makes you laugh, the one who you can share your deepest secrets with, the one who really makes you feel at home. Well, let me introduce you to two people who are inseparable, and all it took was some mutual friends to ignite their love story.

Where it began.

Sometimes you're just in the right place at the right time, and for these two, that seemed to be the case. Connecting through various mutual friends, they slowly got to know one another in a group setting, before really taking it a step further and getting to know each other on their own. The rest? It's history.

Brianna and I went to high school together. When she reached out to me to let me know that she was interested in discussing us working together for her engagement and wedding photography, it was a really special feeling. Don't get me wrong, I'm honored to work with every single one of the couples I'm given the opportunity to join on their special day, but when there's a past connection it really creates a special feeling. You think about all of those time we would've spoken in the past, and never even considered that one day I would be photographing her wedding.

Now, we can go even deeper than that. Growing up like many other kids, I played a wide array of sports. Hockey, soccer, basketball, football, you name it. When I was a playing hockey, I used to play against Jack's brother, for years. He actually played on the same team as one of my best friends. Life is funny when you sort of swing in and out of these people's lives unintentionally, and reconnect in such a genuine way. This always goes to show, treat everyone with respect. Always treat others how you want to be treated, because you never really know who you're going to meet, and when you may connect with them again!

The Engagement Session.

Jack's family owns an absolutely stunning cottage up in Muskoka on Lake Rosseau. After discussing with the two of them on where they may want to have their session, we landed on a place that they both held close to their hearts. Muskoka. We locked in on a Sunday, and decided to meet in the morning at the cottage and make a day of it. And that we did!

We wandered around the property and surrounding area for some time, we went for some lunch at a Mexican spot right on the water, and then headed out on the boat for some time on the water, a tour of the surrounding lakes, and last, but not least, surfing! While Brianna and Jack were totally crushing it, this was actually my first time. I was stoked they gave me the chance to put down my camera for a bit and actually give it a shot! I'd like to say I did alright.

the Wedding Day.

They had set their wedding date for September 30th, 2023, and it was to be held at David Springer Estate in Burlington, ON. An absolutely STUNNING venue. For a little background on David Springer Estate, they are also the proud owners of Roseville Estate in Cambridge, ON.

Upon my initial arrival to the venue for the day to get started, I was really shocked that this really unique venue that made me feel like I was at a chateau in France, was tucked just away off the highway in Burlington, ON. Truly, a hidden gem!

Not a cloud in the sky, everything taking place at the same location, and an absolutely perfect end of September temperature. There wasn't much more we could ask for. The day was flowing seamlessly. Prep was well underway with the hair being done by Brianna from The Head Loft. And something new to me, and I think fairly new to the industry, I was introduced to Alessia, who is a social content creator. Her Instagram is linked here. This is an interesting new spin I've seen a few times now in 2023 as a way for couples to get a lot of behind the scenes video, TikTok content, and Instagram reels. Strictly for their own personal use all taken by a content creator! Pretty neat, hey?

Brianna had the most stunning dress from Kleinfeld and travelled to New York City on multiple occasions to find the dress, have her fitting, and finally pick up the dress. An elegant dress to say the least. Her story about travelling through the airport with what looked like a stuffed body in a dress was priceless. Jack had a sharp, black suit from Calvin Klein that really put the cherry on top for the two of them together. This was really becoming what looked to be a stunning, luxe, editorial wedding vibe to say the least.

I'll include multiple images here for you to scroll through and get the feel for what a special, and absolutely gorgeous day Brianna & Jack had brought together for their closest friends and family to attend.

Oh, and I'd recommend sticking around until the end for some pretty unforgettable party photos... there may or may not be some headstands on tables!

What a day, am I right?

So, before you ventured through that small snippet into Brianna and Jack's wedding day, I mentioned one last thing. That there were maybe... just maybe, some pretty rad party and evening photos. Well I also included a little surprise, which actually was Brianna's surprise to Jack. She decided to get their last name in massive, lit up letters, spread across the lawn once the sun had set. Find yourself a woman like Brianna!! Not that you don't already have one. *wink*

Anyways, to finish it off, here's a handful, and I really had to cut these down to what I thought depicted the best way to show you in a small amount of images what the party and fun looked like to finish off what was an over the top, stunning wedding day for Brianna and Jack.

Cheers to you B&J. I can't wait to witness the life you two continue to create together!

Thanks again for bringing me along for the ride.
